Simple Roasted Garlic Recipe

Roasted Garlic, Simple and Perfect Every Time.
I love garlic. My siblings and I grew up in the microwave and oven premade meals era. We did not consume garlic in this fashion ever. The first time I tried roasted garlic I was in my 20’s. In fact my love for garlic started when I started cooking for myself and boyfriend(now husband).
Now when I cook I do in fact put so much garlic sometimes because I love it so much. So, naturally I wanted to share this simple recipe with you to level up your cooking game and impress your dinner guests.
I love to add this to sauces, dips or butter. Sometimes I just put it directly on my sourdough with a sprinkle of salt. Once you know how to do this there is so many possibilities.

History of roasted garlic:

Garlic is believed to have originated in Central Asia and has been consumed for over 5,000 years. Roasting garlic is a method that likely developed as a way to mellow its sharp flavor while enhancing its sweetness.

Garlic has been used for a long time in Mediterranean, Asian, and Middle Eastern cuisines, and roasting garlic is a common method in these regions. It’s used in a wide range of dishes, from pasta and sauces to spreads and dips. In Mediterranean cooking, for example, roasted garlic is often incorporated into traditional dishes like aioli, a garlic mayonnaise.

Roasted garlic has been enjoyed by people from diverse cultures around the world for a very long time. It’s a simple yet versatile cooking technique that adds depth and flavor to a wide variety of dishes.

Dishes that use roasted garlic:

As is, on toast is amazing but here are some dishes to consider:

Aioli

Added to mashed potatoes, soups
It could even be good in guacamole
There is a tun you can use it for, its just about getting creative with it.

Method:

  1. Pre-heat oven to 425.
  2. Now you’re going to take your garlic and pull all the skin off except the last thin layer.
  3. Then you are going to cut the tops off with one cut. You can save them and use them for soup or whatever recipe needs garlic!
  4. Now you will place the Garlic on a piece of foil and add a little pour of olive oil, salt and pepper.
  5. Close the aluminum foil around the garlic and place in oven for 45 minutes.
  6. Carefully remove the garlic from the oven. Then unwrap your foil (without burning yourself).
  7. Remove garlic from foil and serve immediately with warm bread.
  8. Or if its for another recipe maybe wait a bit for it cool before handling.
