We love a straight forward dessert recipe

I am all for complicated recipes, I love a challenge and to try something new and exciting. However, it’s nice to just make something and go. This is exactly that. The most important thing to remember is the quality of ingerdients.

Quality chocolate, organic seeds, dates, dried fruit and nuts. When making a healthier dessert option it’s best, to always focus on the quality of ingredients.

The recipe:

healthy chocolate bark on a parchment lined pan

Ingredients:

  • Dark Chocolate – Use as much as feels right for you, depending on how much you want to make.
  • Coconut Oil – I use virgin and organic coconut oil.
  • Choice of Toppings – I used dates, pumpkin seeds, peanut butter, and sea salt.

I think this recipe is great for seed cycling. It can be a good way to add the seeds into the chocolate or as a topping! I am going to be writing about my experience with seed cycling.

Method:

  1. First, you are going to put your chocolate and coconut oil in, and then you have two options.
-You can boil water and put the bowl over the water, heat and stir consistently. This will heat the chocolate.
-The next option is to microwave the bowl of chocolate for 15-20 seconds at a time and stir in between.
  2. Next, you will spread your melted chocolate evenly-ish onto your parchment paper. Be sure not to make it too thin!
  1. While the chocolate is still warm, you want to add all the toppings to make sure they stick.
  2. Place in the freezer for about 30 minutes or when you’re ready to eat it.
  1. When the bark is sufficiently frozen, take it out and break it apart with your hands.
  2. You can store it in an airtight container in the freezer and enjoy it whenever you like.

This is really one of the easiest, healthiest desserts you can make in a pinch. I make this one all the time and it’s a great way to get your sweet fix without affecting your health goals.
