Fruit & Chocolate – always a good idea
Welcome back to the table. So happy you are back at the table for another healthy dessert recipe. My favorite way to have dessert is with some sort of chocolate. I made this dessert for my amazing, wonderful husband. I am allergic to strawberries, actually, so I rarely buy them, and my husband loves them; I just always forget when I go shopping.
But this Valentine’s, I will not forget the strawberries.
It was obviously not created by me, but I more want to share how I do it, the ingredients I used, and why I chose these ingredients!

What you will need for this recipe:
- Parchment Paper – Quality* Not bleached* Naturally made*
- Quality Chocolate – I use Guittard 72% made with coconut sugar, it is literally so good.
- Coconut Oil – I always get organic, virgin coconut oil. I usually get mine from Trader Joe’s, but linked a good one.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Can I use other fruit?
Of course, you can! You can use whatever fruit your heart desires!
Do the strawberries have to be organic?
No, however, I highly recommend using organic because strawberries are one of the most pesticide-exposed fruits. When I do buy them I always buy organic strawberries. Better for your health.
The Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 1lb Box of Organic Strawberries
- 1/2 cup of Quality Dark Chocolate
- 1 Tbps Organic Coconut Oil
Method:
- First things first, we are going to add our chocolate and coconut oil to a heat-safe bowl or, in my case, a measuring up.
- Now, you can add the chocolate chips and coconut oil to your heat-safe bowl or measuring cup.
- Heat the chocolate up gradually in the microwave or heat over water on the stove. (If you are heating it in the microwave, heat for 20-second increments, and string in between until smooth and completely melted).
- Then we are going to wash our strawberries. The best way to do this is to put them in a bowl of water that has a tbsp of apple cider vinegar. Stir the strawberries in and let them sit for 5 minutes or so.
- Drain the strawberries and let them dry on a kitchen towel or paper towel.
- Now, we will dip our dry strawberries in the bowl of melted chocolate and then place the strawberries on a parchment paper-lined plate.
- Repeat the above task until all the strawberries are dipped in chocolate.
- When they all have been successfully dipped, transfer the plate into the fridge for the strawberries to harden.
- It will take about 30 minutes or so for the chocolate to get hard enough in the fridge.
- YOU ARE DONE!!! Enjoy the best chocolate-covered strawberries you’ve ever had!
My husband helped me dip some, and it was funny to watch him literally get his hands dirty hahaha.
