What inspired this recipe?
If you are new here you have to know that my love for sweets runs deep. I love dessert and have dessert pretty much daily. What always and forever inspires my healthy desserts is the want for nutrient rich food that also tastes good, like this brownie. Refined sugar-free, fake flour-free, flour-free, seed oil-free and all around just cleaner. I also have a weakness for chocolate and I cant say no to a clean ingredient chocolate treat. These brownies are sweet without being over powering and chocolaty. I used dark chocolate from TJ’s but am always in the market for quality chocolate. If you know of one or have a favorite please let me know what it is in the comments!
What You will need:
-A large mixing bowl
-Over ripe bananas
-Rubber spatula
-9×9 baking dish
Ingredients
-3 bananas ripe
-1/2 cup cocoa powder
-2 eggs
-2 tbsp maple syrup (not necessary, if you don’t want to have extra sugar)
-1/2 peanut butter
-1/4 tsp baking soda
-A pinch of salt
-Dark Chocolate chips (however much desired)
-Coconut oil to grease pan
Method:
-We will start the recipe today with Preheating the oven to 350F. As that’s heating up we are going to smash our bananas really well and add two eggs.
-In the same bowl you are going to add the maple syrup and peanut butter, mix very well. Now add the cocoa powder slowly. When that is well mixed go ahead and add the pinch of salt and baking powder.
-The final touch is the chocolate chips! Add the amount you desire. More is always more in my opinion. 😉
– I decided to bake these in cute individual le creuset Dutch ovens. Strictly because it looked really cute and also to make serving my dessert to guests fun! This method would also work with a 9×9 baking dish. It would just vary on bake time! When pouring in the batter, don’t pour too much or it will take forever to cook. Once the little Dutch ovens are ready to go, place them all on a big baking dish and then place that dish in the preheated oven.
-Bake for 45 minutes until the toothpick comes out clean! For a 9×9 bake for 10 minutes, take out and slam on the counter top – to flatten it out. Bake for another 30 minutes until the toothpick comes out clean.
-You are done! Allow these brownies to cool fully before diving in! I hope you and your family enjoyed this recipe!
