Why a wellness shot?

It’s like a fantastic shock to your system! Fresh, raw ingredients straight to the gut to provide extra support for your immune system. My question when it comes to health is, why not? If it is beneficial, can have an impact, and doesn’t harm, why not give it a shot!
But I am an advocate for trying new things and getting excited about them!

Did you know most of your immunity is located in your gut?

  • Most of our immune system lives in the gut. Around 70–80% of our immune cells hang out there.
  • It’s the first line of defense. Anything we eat or drink passes through, so the gut is on constant “watch duty.”
  • It helps train our bodies. The gut teaches the immune system what’s safe (like food) and what’s dangerous (like harmful bacteria).
  • Friendly bacteria matter. Trillions of microbes in the gut team up with immune cells to keep things balanced.
  • Healthy gut = stronger immunity. A happy gut can lower inflammation, help fight infections, and even influence allergies or autoimmune conditions.

Basically, keeping your gut happy is a huge part of keeping your whole immune system strong.

What you will need for this recipe:

The recipe:

juice about to be strained into a strainer

Ingredients (why they are good for you)

  • Turmeric:
Reduces inflammation – eases joint and muscle discomfort
Powerful antioxidant – protects cells from damage
Supports digestion & immunity – aids gut health and defends the body
Boosts brain & heart health – may improve memory and circulation
  • Ginger:
Reduces inflammation – helps with joint pain and soreness
Aids digestion – soothes the stomach and reduces bloating
Boosts immunity – fights off infections and colds
Supports circulation & heart health – may improve blood flow and lower cholesterol
  • Orange:
High in Vitamin C – supports the immune system and promotes skin health
Provides Antioxidants – like flavonoids that protect against cell damage
  • Cayenne Pepper:
Contains Capsaicin – which boosts metabolism and improves blood circulation
Spicy Kick – this stimulates the senses.

Together, the ingredients create a potent wellness shot that supports immunity, reduces inflammation, boosts energy, and promotes overall health. WIN, WIN, WIN.

Method:

  1. First, we are going to add 3 inches of ginger (no need to skin), 3 inches of turmeric, and a whole orange, peeled.
  1. Then you are going to add 1/4-1/8 of a tsp of cayenne pepper. (Depending on how spicy you want it). Add a 1/2 cup of filtered water.
  2. Now you are going to blend the heck out of it.
  1. You will now need your mesh strainer and put it over a bowl. Pour your immunity juice through the strainer! It may take a minute, and you may need to stir the mesh strainer to help all the juice get through.
  1. Pour into a glass air-tight container and store in the fridge for up to 5 days.
  2. And don’t forget to pour yourself a fresh shot of it right after you make it!
