DIY Wellness Shots: Ginger, turmeric & more

Brittany Piscatella
This is one of my favorite ways to combat the seasonal sickies. We honestly don't get sick often here because of our diet and how we take care of ourselves! These wellness shots are a great part of a healthy routine in the colder months!

Equipment

  • High-Speed Blender I use a ninja and ita linked above
  • mesh strainer

Ingredients

  • 3 inches ginger
  • 3 inches turmeric
  • 1 Lg orange peeled
  • 1/4-1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup filtered water

Instructions

  • First, we are going to add 3 inches of ginger (no need to skin), 3 inches of turmeric, and a whole orange, peeled.
  • Then you are going to add 1/4-1/8 of a tsp of cayenne pepper. (Depending on how spicy you want it). Add a 1/2 cup of filtered water.
  • Now you are going to blend the heck out of it.
  • You will now need your mesh strainer and put it over a bowl. Pour your immunity juice through the strainer! It may take a minute, and you may need to stir the mesh strainer to help all the juice get through.
  • Pour into a glass air-tight container and store in the fridge for up to 5 days.
  • And don't forget to pour yourself a fresh shot of it right after you make it!
