Flour Tortilla Recipe

These homemade tortillas are only 3 ingredients, yes you heard me right 3. They were a huge hit at my house and will definitely be on repeat.

Ingredients
  

  • 3.5 Cups of All Purpose Flour
  • 1/3 Cup of Melter Salted Butter
  • 1 cup of Hot Water

Instructions
 

  • Place flour, salted butter, and hot water in a large bowl; mix well with a baking spoon. Then knead the dough by hand in the bowl until reasonably combined.
  • Remove the dough from the bowl, knead it by hand on a lightly floured surface until the dough is a smooth ball.
  • Place it back in the bowl and cover it with a damp kitchen towel, allowing the dough to rest for 15 minutes.
  • Now, divide the dough into pieces of more or less the same size. Roll each piece into a ball and cover them with plastic wrap. Leave them to rest for 10 minutes in the bowl.
  • Lightly flour your work surface and place a dough ball. Use your hands to flatten it a little bit.
  • Then, with a floured rolling pin, roll the dough into a thin, round tortilla.
  • Preheat a large cast-iron skillet or pan to medium/high.
  • Place the tortilla on the hot skillet and cook until you see some bubbles that start to brown on that side.
  • Flip the tortilla and continue cooking until it starts to puff up.
  • Place the tortillas in a kitchen towel to keep them warm and soft.
  • Finish all your tortillas, and you are ready for tacos.
