- 2 Pears I used Barret
- 2 Eggs
- 2 Tbsp full-fat Greek Yogurt or regular yogurt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 Stick of softened butter plus more to grease the pan
- 1 Cup of all-purpose flour
- 1 Tsp of baking powder
- 1/8 Tsp Salt
- 3/4 Cup of sugar
- Cinnamon and sugar mixed for sprinkling
First we are going to gather all our ingredients.
Then we are going to mix all the dry ingredients: flour, salt and baking powder. Set that bowl aside.
Now we are going to mix the soft butter and sugar until it gets light and fluffy.
Then you will add the vanilla extract and one egg. Mix until the egg is fully combined. Then add the second egg and mix until that one is fully combined.
Now you are going to pour your flour into your wet mixture bowl and mix well, until fully combined.
Take your pie dish or square 9x9 dish and grease the bottom with butter.
Now add your dough and smooth it out at the bottom.
Time for the pears. Wash 2 pears and peel the skin off. Then you are going to slice them. They should be about a 1/2 inch thick. [As pictured in the article.]
Layer the pears in the pie dish like pictured in the article, but you can also have fun with it.
Wrap with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 25 minutes. Pre-heat the oven to 350F/177C.
Remove the tart from the fridge and sprinkle the sugar/cinnamon mixture on top.
Bake for 45-55 minutes or until edges are golden and the middle is not wobbly. Do not over-bake.
You are done!!! Allow to cool completely before enjoying!!
